15 Programs

CONNECT2WORK PROGRAMS
Connect2Work’s 15 programs are located throughout Onondaga County at P.E.A.C.E., Inc. facilities.

Here are short descriptions of each program:

WELL-WORK PROGRAM
Provides access to health care, nutrition and job-search services so you feel better and stronger as you work or seek employment.

FOOD FOR HOPE PROGRAM
Supplies additional resources to food pantries; offers cooking and nutritional instruction to help you eat healthily on a budget, and get the most value from your food.

ROAD TO GREEN EMPLOYMENT TRAINING PROGRAM
Prepare for in-demand “green” jobs that reduce waste and pollution, and help the environment, in areas such as construction, building rehabilitation and building maintenance. Selected individuals will receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

ENHANCED OFFICE COMPUTER SKILLS TRAINING
Teaches marketable skills that help you stand out and improve your job prospects in growing fields.

GREATER NORTHSIDE FINANCIAL TRAINING CENTER
Find help to manage your finances and job search by providing financial skills workshops and pre-employment training. Our Earned Income Tax Credit Program (EITC) provides tax preparation and e-filing. Individual Development Accounts are available to help first-time home buyers.

FAMILY SUPPORT ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM
Provides training to become a Certified Family Support Assistant and provide care for children with special needs.

WORK LINK PROGRAM
Provides job placement, job readiness training, soft skills development and computer-aided technology for job searches and resume writing.

TRANSPORTATION, WAREHOUSING & INVENTORY CONTROL TRAINING PROGRAM
Gives certified graduates of the National Tractor Trailer School (NTTS) and unemployed truck drivers on-the-job training in the areas of driving, inventory or warehousing.

FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM
Offers stipended service opportunities for eligible individuals 55 and older who would like to share their wealth of knowledge and skills with the special needs children of our community in a supervised setting.

K.I.C.K.S. (KEEPING IT COOL…KIDS BETWEEN SCHOOL
Provides a high-quality day camp experience for children in kindergarten through fifth grade, during winter and spring breaks and the first five weeks of summer vacation. Working parents or those seeking employment are eligible.

WORKER TRAINEE PROGRAM
Learn the pre-requisite skills necessary for employment while gaining on-the-job training in food service preparation, classroom teaching assistance, weatherization and/or Microsoft Office.

FOOD SERVICE SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM
Gain the necessary certification training and life skills to obtain long-term employment in food preparation and service.

COMPUTER SKILLS FOR BUSINESS & THE TRADESTRAINING PROGRAM
Provides instruction in hardware repair as well as job-readiness and computer skills for the trades including green drawing, blue print reading, estimating, calculating, calendaring, preparing invoices and time sheets. Our A+ Certification Program can help you begin a career in Information Technology (IT).

GREEN CONSTRUCTION MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS TRAINING PROGRAM
Offers on-the-job training for construction, maintenance, or operations, while improving the spaces community members use to live, learn, work and play.

EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE & OUTREACH INITIATIVES
Supports your job-search efforts with computers, resume writing and practicing computer and keyboarding skills.
