Family Worker - Head Start

Level IV – 4 year degree

B.S. in Social Work, Human Services or other related field.   

OR

Level III – 2 year degree

A.A.S. in Social Work, Human Services or other related field, and one year of experience in social work, human services or in a community family service organization.

OR

Level II – FDC/CDA Credentialing 

Level I – High School or GED

High School Diploma or GED plus four years experience or training in the social work or human services field. 

Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, and have computer knowledge. Experience working with low-income families, knowledge of agencies and services available to address the needs of families in Onondaga County, flexibility to work some evenings and weekends, a valid New York State driver license and accessibility by telephone. Also, possess strong self starting skills and compassion for clients. Bi-lingual ability preferred in those target areas where a second language predominates.  Preschool child development experience also preferred.
