• At least two years of experience and/or post-secondary education related to the human resources function or other business field.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and public.
• Experience facilitating staff training sessions is helpful.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.


1. Assist employees with enrollment in benefit programs and insurances including health, dental, long-term disability & life insurance and 401k.

2. Set up insurance benefits in payroll and with insurance providers for new enrollments as well as with benefit changes.

3. Schedule open enrollment for employees. Work on developing on-line open enrollment.

4. Prepare and reconcile monthly insurance invoices. Keep current all benefit information.

5. Assist employees with benefit questions and inquiries.

6. Assist with on-boarding new hires, to include conducting new employee orientation, setting up new hire paperwork, input of information into the payroll system.

7. Act as back-up to Benefits Administrator or HR Assistant in their absence. May assist Human Resources Director with special projects including facilitating staff trainings. Some tasks may involve routine file maintenance and upkeep.

8. Assist with collection of information for the 401k audits.

9. Perform bank reconciliations for Fiscal Office.

10. Maintain confidentiality.

11. Perform all other duties as assigned.

12. Adhere to relevant health and safety policies and procedures.
