LOCATION: Eastside Family Resource Center, 202 South Beech Street, Syracuse

Description

Work collaboratively with the Syracuse City School District and other entities such as family court, criminal court and probation, in helping students meet the established mandatory education requirements while attending an alternative school program. Full-time weekdays, starting between $17.50 to $18.50 per hour.

Qualifications
  • Some college credits and actively pursuing undergraduate degree.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of staff.
  • Must demonstrate good interpersonal and excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to organize and analyze data is required.
  • A proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Must be a self-starter, well organized, and able to work independently.
Responsibilities
  • Develop a daily attendance plan which involves monitoring student attendance to encourage daily program attendance to students enrolled in the Syracuse City School District alternative learning program at the PEACE Eastside Family Resource Center.
  • Help family support plans which will assess the student's social, economic, health and educational needs.
  • Provide linkages and navigation assistance to address gaps in resources and services to facilitate a safe and healthy school environment for students while at PEACE ESFRC program.
  • Work in conjunction with the on-site academic instructor and staff from the Syracuse City School District to support individual academic intervention plan for each student.
  • Facilitate student transition back into full day school if determined, providing necessary feedback to SCSD staff concerning student needs and/or concerns regarding placement.
  • Provide support for students and families with school related concerns. Connect with other programs to ensure we are meeting the student's needs.
  • Assist student with issues related to behavior or interpersonal interactions.
  • Keep and maintain daily case notes of student and family engagement and activities.
  • Meet bi-weekly with the SCSD designated program liaison.
