Valentine's PhotoRite Aid staff from the distribution center in Liverpool took a few hours out of their busy work day to celebrate Valentine’s Day with local senior citizens at PEACE, Inc.’s Senior Nutrition Program at the Salina Civic Center in Mattydale.  Coordinated by Barb Pickard, Rite Aid volunteers served a hot lunch, a special Valentine’s Day cake and strawberry ice cream.

The volunteers enjoyed giving back to the community, and spending time with the seniors.

As a corporation, Rite Aid is committed to improving the community and Kevin Neary, General Manager, generously made the volunteer opportunity possible.  In addition to the Valentine’s event, Rite Aid also helped out with senior meals in the fall, conducted a book drive for PEACE, Inc. Head Start, purchased holiday gifts for low income families and consistently donates product to PEACE, Inc. for distribution in the community.

Rite Aid Corporation is one of the nation’s leading drugstore chains with approximately 4,700 stores in 31 states and the District of Columbia.

PEACE, Inc. Senior Nutrition prepares nutritious congregate meals for seniors at 40 sites across Onondaga County.  PEACE, Inc.
