PEACE, Inc. hosts Upstate Medical University volunteers for the United Way of CNY’s Day of Caring Event

On August 4, PEACE, Inc. hosted Upstate Medical University volunteers for the United Way of CNY’s inaugural Day of Caring Event. Celebrating its 100th year, the United Way of CNY deployed nearly 850 volunteers from numerous organizations to 85 nonprofits throughout the region.

At PEACE, Inc., volunteers from Upstate Medical University helped organize clothing for the agency’s AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program. The Foster Grandparent program provides senior citizens with the opportunity to share their time and talents mentoring at-risk children in the community. PEACE, Inc. appreciates the volunteers’ efforts as well as the opportunity to participate in the United Way of CNY’s Day of Caring Event.

PEACE, Inc. hosts the Bonadio Group for its Annual “Day of Purpose”

This past week was a memorable one at PEACE, Inc., as the agency partnered with the Bonadio Group to host its fifth annual “Day of Purpose” on August 5. For more than 40 years, the Bonadio Group has excelled in offering a range of financial and consulting services.

Although an undeniable muggy morning, more than 35 Bonadio staff members weathered the heat and humidity to volunteer their time at 6 different agency sites. They accomplished much. A Head Start playground was cleaned while a gymnasium stripped, sanded, and primed for painting. Scrapped as well were the walls of our Maintenance facility. Shelving was installed and the grounds weeded and cleaned at Westside Family Resource Center and the Frank DeFrancisco Eastwood Community Center. Similar upkeep was pursued at the Emma L. Johnston Family Resource Center as well as the streets of Southside. We are thankful for Bonadio and couldn’t have accomplished the work so quickly without their help.
