Employee of the Month for October is Stephanie Misner

Stephanie Misner is having a very eventful week: she is celebrating her 10th anniversary as a lead teacher at our Liverpool Head Start site, she just returned from the Elevate Conscious Discipline conference in Las Vegas, and today we are honoring her as our newest Employee of the Month! Stephanie was nominated for this award because even among our highly effective educators she stands out for all of the ways she engages and shows appreciation for her co-workers, her students, and their parents.

Congratulations to Stephanie Misner, our Employee of the Month for October 2024!

Second Annual Food Justice Gathering

Second Annual Food Justice Gathering

On Saturday, it was a wonderful day of education, advocacy, and community as Syracuse Onondaga Food Systems Alliance held its Second Annual Food Justice Gathering. PEACE, Inc. had the opportunity to share the successes of its partnership with Delaney Farms. The latter increased access to fresh and healthy produce for our city FRCs and taught Let Me Be Great summer youth how to plant, grow, and harvest both vegetables and flowers.

Thank you once again SOFSA for funding this important partnership.

Appreciation Open House at Eastwood

Appreciation Open House at Eastwood

On October 23, PEACE, Inc. held an Appreciation Open House at Frank DeFrancisco Eastwood Community Center. The event acknowledged those Onondaga County and New York State Funds used to pursue a full roof replacement, sections of brickwork repair around the roof and entrance of the building, and the installation of new floors in the building’s mezzanine. Thank you, Onondaga County Office of Aging Services and State Senator Mannion’s Office, for joining us.

Thanks also to the Maintenance and Eastwood teams that coordinated and navigated the complicated work. Most importantly, PEACE, Inc. leaders expressed their appreciation to the Eastwood Seniors for their patience and flexibility this summer during extended closures.
