On June 8th, 2024, PEACE, Inc., staff from the Community Engagement and Diversity Equity & Inclusion departments, had the privilege to join the InterFaith Works- United We End Racism event at Syracuse Inner Harbor! This served as a wonderful platform for our local community to unite and take a stand against racism.
The Community Engagement team had great dialogues with the AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparents this week.
These conversations were follow-up ones from February, when the team spoke with Seniors about their needs and incorporated their responses into the agency’s Community Needs Assessment.
The team shared its findings and continued to listen to the Seniors’ concerns around housing, their neighborhoods, and the general direction of the community. Thank you all!
Our Executive Director Carolyn Brown recently had the delightful chance to engage with the children at our Baldwinsville Head Start location through reading. This experience was filled with warmth for both Carolyn and the kids!
Our little artists at Merrick Head Start have outdone themselves this year! The gymnasium was transformed into a stunning art gallery featuring their amazing creations. We’re so proud of their creativity and talent!
Congratulations to Syracuse Crunch forward Daniel Walcott for receiving the Yanick Dupré Memorial Award from the AHL.
The award recognizes the great work that Walcott pursues in the Syracuse community and with the PEACE, Inc. Big Brothers Big Sisters program in particular.
