PEACE, Inc. celebrates the Grand Opening of its new Energy and Housing Services Building

September 15 marked a wonderful day for PEACE, Inc., as the agency celebrated the Grand Opening of its new Energy and Housing Services Building on Erie Blvd West. Current and past agency administrators, Board of Directors Members, and staff -as well members of the community at large- celebrated the new facility, toured its offices, and saw a insulation demonstration. Weatherizing more than 9000 housing units in the last 10 years alone, the agency is proud of Director Sally Ward, her team, and the program’s legacy of energy and cost-savings for Central New Yorkers. Noted Speaker Shares Thoughts, Experiences around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Local Educator, Fulbright Scholar, and TEDx Speaker Dr. Emad Rahim spoke to all staff at August’s Head Start In-Service. Rahim shared his family’s experiences under the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime and as a refugee youth in New York City and Syracuse. Rahim’s messages about inclusion and the importance of both educators and education inspired reflection throughout the day. They also introduced key features of the agency’s broader, evolving DEI initiative. In the coming months, the agency’s recently appointed DEI Coordinator, Gerri Regan, will be sharing updates and further trainings associate with this important work.

The Westside Family Resource Center had its Annual Back-to-School Giveaway

What a marvelous Monday it was! The Westside Family Resource Center had its Annual Back-to-School Giveaway, and it was a huge success!

Kids of all ages were allowed to get equipped for the new school year with notebooks, backpacks and other school supplies. A special thanks to everyone who joined in on the fun and made this event possible.
