Our AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program recently held a Super Science Fun In-Service, which included hands-on science experiment stations. Foster Grandparents made marbled paper, chicken squawk toys and Ocean in Bottle fidget toys. They can now support science learning in the classroom by encouraging students to use their senses, observe, describe and explain their observations and ideas.
It was a picture-perfect Saturday for PEACE Inc.’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program’s annual Field Day/Back to School Event this past weekend at Santaro Park!
Special thanks to Barclay Damon LLP for their generous sponsorship that provided backpacks/school supplies, lunch, an ice cream truck, games, and many prizes – they helped make the day a huge success! We had a great turnout of around 80 people, including BBBS volunteers, staff, Bigs, Littles, and a few Barclay staff members!
PEACE, Inc. once again proudly hosted The Bonadio Group for its sixth annual Day of Purpose Event on August 4. 20 volunteers alongside PEACE, Inc. staff members accomplished much by scraping and painting the walls at our IT and Maintenance facility, painting at our Emma L. Johnston Southside Family Resource Center, and staining the entrance ramp at Westside Family Resource Center. The agency thanks everyone for their efforts!
