People’s Equal Action and Community Effort, Inc. (PEACE, Inc.), Springtide Housing LLC, Housing Management Resources (HMR), and the New York State Department of Housing and Community Renewal (HCR) will host a press conference on 30 October 2023, 2:00 PM, at The ROXY Apartments, 723 West Onondaga Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13204.

The event will celebrate National Weatherization Day. The day highlights the impact of the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and those local agencies such as PEACE, Inc. and its Department of Energy and Housing Services that help low- to moderate-income residents improve the health and safety of their homes. Such energy-saving services also help reduce costs for property- and homeowners.

Additionally, the event will celebrate those local affordable apartment complexes that have been recently acquired by Springtide Housing LLC, maintained by HMR, and rehabilitated through HCR’s Weatherization Preservation Plus Program (WAP P+). The work at the ROXY represents the completion of a P+ grant of $1,250,000 to improve 6 formerly distressed properties in high-need, Syracuse neighborhoods. This event also marks the release of an additional $1,070,000 in P+ funds to improve 5 more distressed properties.

At 2 PM, short remarks will be offered by representatives from PEACE, Inc., Springtide Housing LLC, HMR, and HCR. Immediately following, light refreshment and tours of the ongoing work at the ROXY will be provided.
