The group spent the day bowling together, sharing pizza and lemonade, and celebrating friendly competition. Betty emerged as the winner of the match with an impressive score of 91.

After bowling, the seniors took a leisurely walk around the mall, reflecting on changes since their last visit and enjoying each other’s company. The outing provided a wonderful opportunity for social connection, laughter, and community engagement, highlighting the importance of programs that support seniors’ well-being and social participation.

In October, the Golden Age Social Club from the Viola G. Chisholm Eastside Family Resource Center enjoyed a delightful fall outing to Beak and Skiff Apple Orchards. Members savored fresh apple cider, warm cider donuts, and the crisp autumn air as they took in the beautiful fall scenery. The trip provided a relaxing opportunity for participants to connect, share conversation, and enjoy the season together.

As Halloween approached, the group continued their seasonal fun with a visit to Tim’s Pumpkin Patch. Seniors explored the festive decorations, picked out their favorite pumpkins, and enjoyed warm drinks and tasty snacks while spending time together. Both outings offered a wonderful chance for members of the Golden Age Social Club to engage with the community, enjoy the sights and flavors of fall, and create lasting memories.

The PEACE, Inc. Senior Nutrition Program now serves lunches at The Syracuse Community Connections! On October 21st, County Executive Ryan McMahon, the Onondaga County Department of Adult & Long Term Care Services, and PEACE, Inc. staff joined together to celebrate the opening of this new senior dining site.

The Senior Nutrition Program plays a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of older adults in our community. By providing nutritious meals in a welcoming environment, the program helps seniors maintain a balanced diet, socialize with peers, and stay engaged in community activities. These meals are designed to meet the dietary needs of older adults, helping them stay strong, healthy, and independent.

The new Syracuse Community Connections site offers a convenient location for seniors to enjoy a hot, nutritious lunch and connect with others. This expansion reflects PEACE, Inc.’s ongoing commitment to serving the needs of older adults and fostering a sense of community.

PEACE, Inc. – Senior Supports Program helps connect isolated and homebound seniors with the services they need to live independently and remain in their own homes.

Senior Supports Program provides information, referrals and case assistance to senior citizens (age 60 and older), with particular emphasis on those with greater social and economic needs who live in the Baldwinsville area and the Town of Elbridge, which includes the Villages of Baldwinsville, Elbridge, Jordan, and the Towns of Lysander, Van Buren, and Elbridge.
